Mount St. Mary's fell at No. 17 Johns Hopkins by an 11-4 margin on Tuesday night at Homewood Field. Luke Frankeny, Brendan Doyle, Brenden McCarthy and Chris DiPretoro tallied a goal apiece for the Mountaineers. Joe Bethke and Joshua Davies each added assists, while Davies also contributed a team-high three caused turnovers. Jack Mangan registered a team-best seven ground balls to go along with a pair of caused turnovers. Dylan Furnback tied his season-high with 14 saves in goal, as he posted his sixth double-digit save performance of the season. Neil Roche and Tyler Powell each made their first appearance of the season in the cage for the Mountaineers and both stopped the lone shot on target they faced.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mount St. Mary's sophomore goalie Dylan Furnback was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, as he garnered the award for the second consecutive week. Furnback earned a pair of wins in goal against #14 Richmond and Mercer, which included a season-high 14 saves in the Mount's upset victory over the Spiders last Tuesday. The sophomore made a crucial save in the overtime period that led to Chris DiPretoro's game-winning goal on the other end. The victory over Richmond was the Mount's sixth win against a ranked opponent in program history and the first since 2013.
The Bulldogs have dropped their last four contests to fall to 2-5 on the year. Their two victories on the season have come against Providence, 11-8, and Dartmouth, 6-5. Sophomore attackman Marc O'Rourke leads the squad in all three scoring categories with 27 points on 19 goals and eight assists. Freshman face-off specialist Jack Aigner has gone 80-for-134, good for a .597 win percentage. Rookie goalie Luke Caracciolo owns a .582 save percentage and 10.10 goals against average in six starts.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Mount and Bryant have split the last two matchups, with the Mountaineers coming away with a 6-5 win during the 2017 campaign in Emmitsburg, and Bryant posting a 20-11 victory last season in Smithfield. The Bulldogs own an 8-3 advantage overall in the series, but the teams are even at 3-3 all-time at Waldron Family Stadium.
