The Mountaineers own a 2-5 overall record and 1-1 mark in Northeast Conference play on the year. After a 6-5 victory over Bryant in the league opener last Saturday, the Mount was clipped by Robert Morris, 11-10, in overtime over the weekend. Chris DiPretoro registered a team-high three goals in the contest, and Bubba Johnson and Brendan Doyle added a pair of goals one assist apiece, but Ryan Smith's fourth tally of the tilt just 47 seconds into overtime gave the Colonials the 11-10 victory as they improved to 2-0 in conference. Matt Vierheller played well between the pipes for the Mount, turning away 13 of 24 shots on goal to collect his second straight double-digit save performance.

The Keydets sit at 1-6 on the year and 0-3 in SoCon play through their first seven games. They enter Tuesday's matchup on a five-game losing streak after falling to Bellarmine, 13-8, over the weekend. Chris Spada leads all scorers on the squad with 11 goals and 15 points, and Nick Dodd has 13 points on six goals and seven assists. Joe Riccadonna has started all seven games between the pipes, posting a .497 save percentage and 13.37 goals against average.
The Mount owns a 19-2 all-time advantage over VMI, and enters Tuesday's matchup on a nine-game winning streak over the Keydets. Last season the Mountaineers posted a 14-2 victory over VMI in Emmitsburg behind four points (3g, 1a) from Cameron Stone and three (2g, 1a) from Chris DiPretoro.
