Men’s Swimming & Diving Races Past St. Francis Brooklyn on Senior Day

Emmitsburg, Md. (January 14, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's men's swimming & diving team won nine of 12 events to cruise past St. Francis Brooklyn, 140.5-71.5, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at the Mount Swimming Pool.


The Mountaineers honored Eiann Bulatao, Roland Edge and Aidan McCormick with a ceremony prior to the meet as part of Senior Day, recognizing their contributions to the program and the university throughout their time at the Mount.

McCormick and Brock Cudahy paced the Mount with two individual victories apiece. McCormick won the 200 IM (2:14.98) as the Mount earned the top-three spots in the event, and the senior also earned a first-place showing in the 100 breast (1:07.46). Cudahy took first place in both the 100 free (53.88) and 200 free (2:00.11).

The Mount's two other victories in the swimming portion of the meet came in the 100 fly and 100 back. Ryan Carroll took first in the 100 fly in 59.94, and Will Twizell earned the top spot in the 100 back with a time of 59.08.

In the 1-meter diving event, Eiann Bulatao posted the top score with a mark of 141.00.

The Mountaineers also notched victories in both relay events at the meet. The squad of John Mata, Twizell, Carroll and John Wilson raced to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:49.05. The relay team of Mata, Thomas de Xavier, Twizell and Cudahy also placed first in the 200 free relay in 1:40.60.

The Mount's next meet is on January 27 at La Salle at 1 p.m.
