Loretto, Pa. (April 29, 2019)--The Mount St. Mary's outdoor track and field teams had a good showing at the Red Flash Open hosted by Saint Francis U on Saturday.
For the men, Andrew Humm won the 400m dash, Zackary Delker the shot put, and Matthew Selba the discus. The Mount had a host of competitors earn top five finishes at the meet as well. In the 100m, Lewis Kungu was second, Tyler Howard third, adn Angel Martinez fourth. Kungu finished third in the 200m with Martinez placing fourth. Mitchel Wileczek was third in the 1,500m run. In the hurdles, Justyn Seivright was second in the 400m hurdles with Matthew Sanchez finishing fourth in the 110m hurdles.
Dylan LaNoue placed second in both the long jump and the triple jump while D.J. Hamilton was third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. Jonathan Burns finished third in the high jump with Trenton Snipes placing fourth. The Mount earned the top three spots in the shot put with Delker finishing first, Alex Devine second and Selba third. Devine was third in teh discus with David Shoop finishing fifth, while Selba finished second, Max Davis third and Delker fourth in the hammer throw.
For the women, Erin Sample won the shot put while Emily Wood won the discus. The Mount had the two four finishers in the discus with Jesslyn Manni finishing second, Emily Eckard third and Kayla Rademacher fourth behind Wood. Manni also finished third in tehshot put and fifth in teh hammer throw. Alexandra Kay was second in the 3,000m steeplechase while Isabel Russel was second in the 400m hurdles. Jameela Buchanan was fourth in the 200m, Chelsea Wright third in high jump, Janay Fenner fifth in high jump, and Elizabeth Shodiya third in the long jump.
