Five Game Baker Play
# 21 MSMU 900 | Chestnut Hill 743
Mount St. Mary's made the push towards the championship bracket with a 150 point win over the Griffins, who were ahead of The Mount entering play. Consistent effort helped the Mountaineers to the victory, averaging 189.75 across four games. The result pushed the team into fifth, and 50 pins out of the top four.
# 21 MSMU 906 | Felician 915
Mount equaled the effort in the second showing, but were outmatched by both opponent and competition. Despite a 234 in the fourth set, Felician used a 198 and 179 to upset the hosts. Adding insult to injury was a 246 game from Wilmington in their final game that derailed Mount's hopes to win the tournament.
# 21 MSMU 3 | Howard 4
With a championship out of the picture, Mount St. Mary's earned some big wins over the Bison, including a 226 game. However, Howard hung on and rallied from a 2-0 deficit that tied the match at 2-2, and again from a 3-2 deficit to complete the comeback. Howard's 204 score defated Mount's 187 in the final showdown.
#21 MSMU 4 | Daeman 2
Mount got the victory in the final pairing despite having their lowest Baker average of the day, defeating the Wildcats in six with a 165.2 average game.
Youngstown State won the tournament, followed by Duquesne as the runner-up and Wilmington in third.
Mount St. Mary's is off next week before competing in the Virginia Union Invitational in Richmond during the first weekend of November.
