MOUNT UPDATE: Kayla Hughes scored a pair of goals, but the Mount was edged at UMBC, 4-3, on Wednesday night. The high-scoring affair saw the Mount rally from a one-goal deficit on three occasions to even the score. Yasmine Whitelock added her first collegiate goal for the Mountaineers in the game while Charlotte Elrod made four saves. Hughes now leads the Mount with three goals and six points while Maddie Tchou has two goals and five points. Maggie Barron (1.18 GAA, .706 SV Pct.) and Elrod (3.75 GAA, .531 SV Pct.) each have four starts in goal this season.
ABOUT FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON: Fairleigh Dickinson enters Sunday's matchup with a 2-6-2 record on the season. The Knights are coming off a 1-1 draw at Hartford this past Sunday, and are 0-2-2 over their past four games. FDU is 0-4-1 on the road this season. Viktorija Miseljic leads the team with three goals and seven points while Lea Egner has a team-high three assists. Amanda Fitzgerald has started all 10 games in goal, posting a 1.24 GAA and a .772 save percentage.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Fairleigh Dickinson holds an 11-6-1 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that bega in 2000. Last year, the Knights downed the Mountaineers, 3-1, in Hackensack, N.J. The Mount defeated FDU, 2-1, at home, in 2016 in the last matchup played at Waldron Family Stadium. The Mountaineers are 4-4-1 all-time at home against the Knights.
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: After a scoreless first half, FDU's Kristina Neri scored a pair of goals to give the Knights a 2-0 advantage. Amanda Britain sliced the lead in half on a header off a Jenna West corner kick in the 87th minute, but FDU's Sofia Albertsson netted an insurance goal with just under two minutes remaining to seal the win.
